This Ted Heath Orchestra song was partly arranged by my dad Eddie Curtis and I finished the arrangement after his death when I took over his amazing 17 strong Big Band, the sound recording is live in concert from the album 'Live Recording 2008' by The Debbie Curtis Radio Big Band
It’s based on the story from the Bible “The book of Jericho“.
Where the walls of the city came tumbling down as the Israelites marched around its walls.
Joshua was the leader of the Israelite army who led them into the promised land of Canaan.
The lyrics also refer to the Lamb Ram Sheep Horns which were carried by seven priests.
In the story, on the 7th day, the Israelites marched around the city seven times and on the 7th time round the lamb ram horns were blown loudly and everyone shouted, and that was when the “walls came tumbling down”
For the video we used the real me and some AI, as with the backgrounds. I am pleased with the overall look of how we depicted Jericho itself and the tumbling walls, keeping up with the pace of the music.
It was really great to do a video using the live in concert music recording of my 17 piece Big Band, The Debbie Curtis Radio Big Band & Swing Orchestra.
I also really like the tempo I set this at, it’s very lively and you can really feel the energy of this huge band tumbling in the music.
This is the first of a set of videos where we are using the Big Band, hope you enjoy this one.
