This video was a finalist in the AI London Film Festival recently, so I’m rather proud of it!
I wrote the song a long time ago and recorded several versions that just didn’t feel right, so I revisited it, stripped it back and started again!
Originally it had a real eighties feel, but this version has a mix of the original underlying parts including a Roland TR909 Drum Track which we beefed up with more drums layered on top, the addition of saxophone and bass guitar.
The style now is a bit more funk based but still heavier on the keyboards. The bass synth and the bass guitar play in unison, which I love the sound of.
The lyrics are quite wacky, its all about partying and dancing with The Man From Mars (perhaps we should we call him Elon) ! 😂
We used a lot of AI in the video to keep with the modern contemporary approach.
I am pleased with the final result, and the use of AI and real live action blend together well in a seamless way , parts of it are difficult to tell which is AI and which is real.
The yellow outfit seems to work well and fits nicely with the space theme.
