and Three Green Bottles is on Ebay

The story goes it's 1982 & Rock against Racism ask a bunch of Amersham based musicians to put a band together to play a fund raising gig that is happening in 2 weeks time at The Elgiva Theatre in Chesham, Bucks.

Produced by 'The Sweet' Frontman Brian Connelly, this make-shift band do a few rehearsals above Strings N Things Music shop in Amersham and then head into the now Legendary Spaceward Studios in Cambridge to record 2 songs, Edelweiss and Three Green Bottles for a AA side single that's to be sold at the gig.

The gig came & went (the band only had 4 songs but received an encore so played them again! (Abba's Waterloo was definately one of the other tunes and Its A Long Way To Tipperary, we think!)

The band were :-

Nigel Browning : (Enn Bee) Drums and Synth Percussion

Simon Lague : Bass

Steve Kane : Guitar

Wendy Glock : Vocals

Rosie Geary : Vocals

A 2nd gig followed at the now vanished Whispers nightclub in Chesham, Steve quit, so Cliff Levens, (looked great in a ballet dress) joined, he then left, Mick Taylor joined and left and the band fell apart, all in the space of a few weeks. But we had one hell of a laugh doing it!

Nigel's Record Label SNT Records touted the single to the bigger labels and the single was to be picked up by Carrere Records as a Christmas release, but the A&R man doing the signing got seriously injured in a car crash so the deal just fell apart.

41 years later, in July 2023 Nigel licensed both tracks to USA label Reminder Records for worldwide vinyl LP release, Edelweiss is now on Volume 2 of the vinyl album 'Heroes of the Night' and Three Green Bottles is planned for inclusion on Volume 3. https://www.reminderrecords.com/.../bcvz4lkupn7bvggjzoc5a...

Sadly, Steve Kane is no longer with us, Simon, (still playing Bass), lives in the Netherlands, Nigel, (Producer and Artist Management) is still in Bucks, Wendy has vanished! (where are you Wendy) and Rosie is in Glastonbury, in a caravan, in a field somewhere!
